In the light of recent horrendous happenings in Japan our pastor Martin addressed the subject of natural disasters and pain and suffering in the world in his message this Sunday. If you've ever or if anyone you know has ever asked the question..."If God is so loving and all-powerful, WHY does He allow these things to happen?" have a listen to the message he preached and hopefully you'll see the answers in a new light.

Our Little Miracle....
Just look at this face....
This time two years ago it was hard to believe that this little boy would make it to his first smile, let alone his 2nd birthday. This is Isaac, Mark's youngest brother born on the 14th March 2009 3 months premature. He was born (much to everyone's surprise) 3 days after Mark's 21st birthday almost exactly three months before his EDD.
This photo was taken a few days after he came home...he was tiny, around 4 or 5 lbs (I forget how much)
Well, he's now a bouncing, walking, squealing, giggling, endlessly-entertaining little 2-yr-old boy!
If you didn't believe in miracles before, well now you've no excuse!
Well, we had the blessing and privilege of having Isaac, and mum and dad Bateman over for a visit last weekend for Mark's birthday. It was a flying visit, only two full days, but we managed to fit in all the activities you would normally accomplish in a week! So we didn't waste any of the precious time we had together...Here's some of the things we got up to....
We went to the top of a mountain at Leysin where the views are always breathtaking, Mark took his dad off to teach him skiing and Caroline and I sat in the glorious sunshine with coffees and Isaac to keep us entertained!
We then moved on to a different spot where we cooked up a bbq lunch (yes, in March!)
After that we had a wander back down to the lake front just in time for sunset....
Then we headed out to the (infamous) Skipper to celebrate Mark's birthday...
The next day was Saturday, and we headed out into the Jura Mountains to find some snow to sledge in...
Add to that a cafe stop, a long car journey and a relaxing, soothing soak in the thermal baths at Overennaz and you've got a full packed weekend!
It was great to be together again!
Well, today I'm making preparations in our house once again, as its the turn of my parents to arrive tomorrow!!
Please continue to pray for the church out here and the work we're doing. I've recently been thinking about doing some kind of certification in teaching english as a foreign language so pray for wisdom on what to do about that too!
